CAST
NATASHA STRALEY, director
Natasha started as an actor before accepting roles on the other side of the camera in 2010. She has since worked on various film productions sifting through every department until directing naturally rose to the surface.
Focusing on both comedic and dramatic narrative films with dark undertones, her work typically explores the uncomfortable nuances of human nature and relationships. She is attracted to screenplays which push boundaries and dive into the grey area between right and wrong.
Directing credits include the comedic social commentary - CAULIFLOWER; the whimsical lover's story - SHOW & TELL TANGO (starring Jayson Allen Carvel and Melissa Skirboll); a lovers' slice-of-life demise - FINISHED; and a nod to honor mothers everywhere - SANDRA.
Producing credits include PICKUP (starring Mandy Evans, Jim True-Frost and Griffon Robert Faulkner, written by Jessica Blank, directed by Jeremiah Kipp), SOUND/VISION (East Lansing Audience Choice Award; starring Ari Rossen, directed by Jeremiah Kipp).
Natasha was born in DC and lived across the world as a military brat. Texas became her home before moving to New York in 2007.
MARTHA FRANCES WILLIAMS, producer
Martha Frances Williams has always been a natural storyteller with a more than meets the eye quality- A bold imagination, drive, and curiosity mixed with her southern hospitable roots.
She’s spent much of her life pouring these qualities into different artistic endeavours and discovering the curated style that is BAD MoFo Productions. A brave, unapologetic, roll with the punches, dreamy, and highly personal approach.
Originally from North Carolina, Martha Frances made the move to Savannah College of Art and Design on a performance based scholarship where she earned her BFA. It was during this time that she discovered her passion for film and new media. Her hunger for more led her to begin working professionally in film and she finished her degree a semester early.
After college, Martha Frances moved to NYC to work with Broadway Producer, Jed Bernstein and learn everything there was to know about creation and storytelling on a larger scale. In addition to Broadway and Film, she spent four years producing digital content and new media in pharmaceutical marketing. Her experiences in both the creative and corporate worlds led to the founding of her company BAD MoFo Productions.
She is the Executive Assistant to Joana Vicente with the Independent Filmmaker Project (IFP), is a member of: SAG-AFTRA, NYWIFT, and several independent organizations geared towards the creation of new work. She is a part of the Greenwich Village Film Festival team, an event curator for Her Agenda, an ACTV panelist, an advocate for artists in her borough of Queens, NY, and a supporter of minority and female driven stories exploring belonging and universal vulnerabilities.
Her work has included Broadway shows; Driving Miss Daisy, WORKING, Margaritaville, Bull Durham, Roe, Grace; assisting the creative development and revival of the Bucks County Playhouse, coordinating and managing various Commercial Theatre Institute workshops and courses, developing curriculum for NYU Stern and SCAD university courses, the development of several national community driven performance initiatives, films; Found, Greener, I am THEM, Oatmeal, Delicate Rite, Up or Out, Privilege Unhinged, and Atlas of The Soul.
SHANI HADJIAN, writer
Shani Hadjian is best known for her stage career; she was last seen in the national tour of Andrew Lloyd Webber's The Wizard of Oz where she starred as The Wicked Witch of the West. Prior to that, favorite credits include the national tour of Disney's Beauty and the Beast, Off Broadway's Fancy Nancy, The Lady of the Lake in Spamalot, Rose Stopnick in Caroline, or change, and Touchstone in As You Like it. Her screen credits include Stricken, Second Thoughts, and Plastic, Twisted. Shani was awarded “Best Actress” by the Press Newspapers for her role in Spamalot and “Best Featured Actress” by DCMetro Theatre Arts for her role in Caroline, or change.
Shani started writing stories when she was a child, finding computer paper and stapling it together to make a book. She often found herself writing about young girls saving the world. Biographical stuff. As an adult she started writing again, but found what she produced felt unrealistic and forced and she couldn’t put her finger on why. Up or Out was her first time writing after a 5 year hiatus, and she wrote the feature length version in two weeks. It came naturally and she had finally found her groove and voice. She took no classes in those fives years, nothing that would cause her writing to evolve; the only difference was she came out as gay and was finally living her true life, and from there her writing flourished.
NATALIA BOUGADELLIS, cinematographer
Natalia is a director and cinematographer from Athens, Greece. She recently graduated from New York University's Tisch School of the Arts, where she studied film and television production.
Though Natalia has been working in New York these past few years, she is still very connected to her hometown, Athens, where she shot her critically acclaimed directorial debut, “The Owls.” The film has played in eleven countries and over thirty film festivals. Natalia is a strong advocate of gender equality and the promotion of queer narratives in the film industry.
She has received several distinctions and awards for her work. Natalia has also served as one of the Co-directors of the Fusion Film Festival, that celebrates women in film and is part of the Sundance Initiative for Women.
